The answer to this question is no. There are numerous degrees of blindness. Take Dishon for example. He can see fairly well in certain spots. His central vision is not as good. In my case, I can only see a few feet in front of me out of one eye. Some days are better than others. So to sum up, the term “Legally Blind” does not necessarily mean “Totally Blind.” It does mean, however, that we cannot drive.
My husband Dishon loves cleaning. He is one of a few. Many people wonder how the blind clean. Well, the next time you clean your house, try feeling instead of looking. Feel how thick dust can be? Did you find some sugar on the kitchen counter from the last time you made coffee? The other important factor is routine. If we stick to a routine, it’s less likely that something will be missed.
The answer is yes. My husband and I are both blind and maintain a home just like sighted married couples. We just don’t drive. In this blog, I will show you how much easier it is than the general public believes it is.
